This year's Digital Agricultural Fair, one of the most important agricultural events in the region, was held at the Széchenyi István University's Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyaróvár, on 10 April. Among the exhibitors were the most important market players of the sector, as well as the research and educational units of the university. The aim of the programme is to enable the future generation of young farmers to learn about and apply digitisation and precision farming solutions to the whole food production process.

The satellite construction section of the SZESAT Interdisciplinary Special College of the Széchenyi István University has achieved a significant international success by being the first Hungarian university team to qualify for the European Space Agency (ESA) Fly Your Satellite! programme. At a workshop in the Netherlands, the students of the institution presented the current stage of their SZESAT-1 satellite.

Széchenyi István University is striving to become the number one higher education institution in Hungary in the field of motor sport. In this spirit, the Uni Győr WMS go-kart team was established at the beginning of the year, which was announced at a press conference on 28 March. Patrik Lipovics was also introduced at the event, the KMS Europe karting team's driver and winner of last year's RMC Hungary championship, who will also be working more closely with the university in the future.

The Hungarian University-College National Championship or MEFOB Festival, will be held in Győr, Hungary, with more than a thousand participants in thirteen sports. The ambassadors of the event, students from the host Széchenyi István University - Dalma Sebestyén, Olympic swimmer, Bence Szabó, world and European silver medallist rower and Zalán Lang, captain of the Győr men's handball team - are raising awareness of the importance of physical activity and urging everyone to come to Győr to the biggest Hungarian university and college sports event.
The students of SZE excelled in the European competition at the International Accounting Week
Orsolya Lukács and Márk Szalay, students of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics of Széchenyi István University, successfully participated in the 24th International Accounting Week in Lódz, Poland, where nearly 90 students from 15 European countries competed in teams of four. Their instructor, Dr. Katalin Borbély, successfully prepares the participants year after year.
A student and a lecturer of SZE have been selected for the World Championship backgammon team
Since September 2021, the Széchenyi István University has included backgammon as an optional course in its sports studies. A minor sensation was created at the selection trials for the World Championship, as one of the institution's teachers and one of its students were selected for the six-member national team preparing for the World Championships in Sweden this summer.

Széchenyi István University participated with two teams in this year's Hungarian University and College National Championship (MEFOB) ice hockey tournament. After winning the silver medal last year, the students from Győr won the final this year and were able to stand on the top step of the podium.
The buildings of the Apáczai faculty of SZE have been renovated and made more energy efficient
The Széchenyi István University is continuously improving its infrastructure and renovating its buildings, the latest stage of which is the completion of the energy upgrade of the buildings I, III and IV of the János Apáczai Csere János Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. Ukrainian student of Széchenyi István University volunteers at a children's home
Makszim Dmitrovich Krat Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship student from Ukraine has been dedicated to get admitted to Széchenyi István University, and has taken advantage of the institution's free language courses to learn English and continue his studies here. The young man, who came to Hungary with his family to escape the war, quickly grew to love Győr, where he found a home with his loved ones.

National holiday: Széchenyi University staff, students and associates honoured
Several employees of Széchenyi István University, a former student, and cooperation partners received awards from the state and the Győr administration on the occasion of the national holiday on March 15th.
Dr Bihari Mihály, a jurist, Doctor of Political Science, Professor Emeritus of Széchenyi István University, and former President of the Constitutional Court, received the Széchenyi Award for his outstanding role in establishing Hungarian political science education, significant contributions in the fields of science, teaching, and educational administration, as well as for his foundational role in organizing Law Education at the university level in Győr.

The University Library and Archives of Széchenyi István University, which turns 50 this year, is constantly developing and expanding its services. Nearly 600 people received their valuable degrees in one day at Széchenyi István University
The series of graduation ceremonies at Széchenyi István University continued on 23 February. In the morning, 123 students received their degrees at the joint ceremony of the Audi Hungaria Faculty of Automotive Engineering and the Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyaróvár and in the afternoon 219 students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, as well as 240 students of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Economics accepted their degrees.

The young Indonesian received exceptional motivation from receiving the award, which encourages him to make further efforts in his studies.
SZEppelin: SZE’s student team won national success at the telecommunications competition
SZEppelin, the student team representing Széchenyi István University and its SZESAT Interdisciplinary Specialized College, won first place in the Lajos Nagy University Telecommunications Construction Memorial Competition. The young people have designed a carbon-neutral measuring airship to modernise the measurements of mobile telecommunications companies and increase cost-efficiency.
Motorsport: student of SZE and the contestants of H-Moto Uni Győr Team among the best
Bálint Kovács, a student of Technical Management at Széchenyi István University, excelling in the world of the Hungarian motorsport, will compete in the German Championship and the Endurance World Championship in the new season as well. His team, the H-Moto Team, from now on also known as Uni Győr, has been strengthened by the arrival of young riders who will also be competing internationally.

Széchenyi István University's research engineers help the institution's champion rally racer
Kristóf Klausz, a student of mechanical engineering at Széchenyi István University, has been competing in the R5/Rally2 category since 2010, and from 2019 he has been competing in the R5/Rally2 category, aiming to win the national rally championship this year. The talented student is also assisted by two research engineers from the university: Máté Kapocsi and László Orova, who are also involved in the preparation, assembly and transport of the competition vehicle. Focus on sustainability: inauguration of the renovated post office building of Széchenyi University
The Széchenyi István University has renovated the post office building on the Győr campus, which it bought in the autumn, providing modern conditions for the employees and the people who arrive there. The facility is also used for educational activities, so the development will not only indirectly but also directly benefit students and staff. The University will take over the operation of the post office as postal partner from 1 February 2024.

Dr. Attila Borsos, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transport Sciences at Széchenyi István University, has been elected to the governing body of the prestigious International Council on Road Traffic Safety Methods and Theories (ICTCT). In addition to his membership, the lecturer was also awarded the prize for the best oral presentation at the conference in Italy.
SZE has purchased and is renovating the post office building on the Győr campus
For the benefit of students, staff and residents alike, Széchenyi István University has purchased the post office building on the Győr campus from the Hungarian Post. The institution is renovating the facility and will take over the operation of the post office in February.
